Romanian American Professional Spotlight: Tiberius Vadan
April 12, 2017
Tiberius Vadan, a proud Romanian from Cluj, has been a leader in the US Romanian community since he arrived in the US at the age of fifteen. Having initially started the Romanian Business Professionals Association RBPA back in 1996, now branded as RomAmPro, his continued excitement to find and help unite the younger Romanian generations not just in NY but globally have resulted in multiple partnerships and collaborations across social, educational, political and non-profit initiatives in the community.
Professionally, after finishing his MBA at Harvard Business School, with more than a trillion dollars in completed acquisitions and divestitures over more than 150 companies he thrives in restructuring industries and businesses through landmark deals.
While too many to mention, he is most excited about his work restructuring the automotive industry including General Motors (ask him about having to shut down Hummer brand-not happy moment), Financial Services including Lehman Brothers, AIG, MetLife, or fun brands like Adidas,Taylor Made, Kenneth Cole, coach, of fun hotel brands like Marriott and Starwood.
Ultimately, he just loves driving change, loves tackling new challenges he never saw before (ask him how he merged the two largest paintball companies and ended up with several significant bruises).
He is dedicated to making a difference through his charity work with Alex Fund, Hospices of Hope, Alianta, RomAmPro, Romanian Business Council, New York City Opera, Hip Hop for Health among others. Every one of them is focused on education and children well being!
An avid sailor and wine enthusiast, he and his wife Elena live in Manhattan, where they celebrate the great Romanian and American friends God granted them.
